Barone played Gail Cunningham in The Shoes of Seinfeld season 4. She played a cook who was named Elaine Benes who wanted shoes. In the early 1990s, Barone appeared as a regular for Carol & Company alongside Carol Burnett. Barone was also the wife of Carol Willick Ross Geller in Friends' initial episode. Jane Sibbett was her replacement when Barone quit Friends to pursue a role that required additional time. She was a part of The Jeff Foxworthy Show's first season between 1995 and 1996 as well as The War at Home, from 2005-2007. Barone was a co-star on Daddio (2000).
